Running an online business takes a lot of energy, especially in those first few years. So it’s really no surprise that the average ‘at-home-business-owner’ gains 15 – 20lbs in their first year of business.
The hours we spend in front of a laptop, writing content, figuring out tech stuff and answering emails… it adds up.
But our businesses and body’s aren’t mutually exclusive.
Have you ever noticed when YOU feel amazing, your business just freaking flows? But, when you feel like crap, everything feels overwhelming and harder.
You’re busy, and this weeks guest blogger knows EXACTLY what that feels like as a mom and online business owner.
So, if you’re finding it hard to find time to workout or don’t want to spend hours exercising — Stacy Hobson is your woman!
The #1 struggle women tell me when it comes to losing weight and getting in shape is that they just don’t have the time to exercise.
Time doesn’t ever feel like it’s on their side & most of the time they’re working to just make sure that all the daily tasks of running a business.
Plus taking care of the kids, laundry, dishes, cleaning, and playdates can honestly leave us feeling like we need another 24 hours just to get everything else done that has been put on the back burner.
I can personally relate to this as this used to be me.
I didn’t see a way to really fit workouts in my day with all the other stuff that I had to get done.
Let’s not forget that being the CEO of our own business and running the entire show on our own with no team to back us up can fill the majority of our time.
Time is money and this business we are creating is our little baby that we are working to grow, but also making sure to nurture those clients who are paying us their hard-earned money to help them.
So having to get my workout clothes on, get in the car, drive to the gym, do the workout, get back in the car and then drive home was going to be at least an hour, maybe a little more depending on how long it takes me to get through the workout or the class.
If you’re anything like me, you would be thinking about all the things that could get done in that hour and a half time instead of doing that workout.
So how can we make time for exercise with all of this stuff going on?
Here’s the thing:
Workouts are viewed as something that has to be done at the gym, for an hour, in the cutest workout gear.
Just jump on social media right now & you will instantly see gazillions of photos showing this very thing.
I’m about to let you in on a little secret…
We don’t have to wear the cute workout clothes, workout for an hour at the gym in order to lose weight and get in shape.
In fact, you can get amazing results just by doing shorter workouts, at home, in your pajamas, with just your body, a pair of dumbbells, and/or exercise bands.
And no, I’m not kidding.
One of my specialties as a trainer is short and effective workouts.
I’m the trainer who creates a workout that will have someone look at it and say, “oh, this will be an easy workout” but come out on the other end sweating way more than they anticipated.
I’m talking about workouts that are anywhere between 10-20 minutes & will provide you WAY MORE RESULTS than your traditional one-hour workout.
Being an entrepreneur myself, I know that we can find 10-20 minutes to fit a workout in our day, and still get all the things done as well.
We are efficient beings & we don’t like to mess around. We like to put in the work & get optimal results.
So why should our workouts be any other way?
The style of exercise that I teach my clients is called Metabolic workouts.
They are short, sweet and to the point.
They provide optimal results in changing the shape of our body & provide us the weight loss we’ve been seeking.
We can perform fewer workouts during the week, and we get both strength & cardio combined in these workouts.
This style of training is to optimize fat loss and muscle gain at the same time to create a fit and functional body.
Plus? These style of workouts provide the AFTERBURN EFFECT.
What does this mean?
It means that we continue to burn calories EVEN AFTER OUR WORKOUT IS COMPLETE. And I am not talking about minutes. I’m talking about HOURS.
That’s what I mean by the most bang for your buck.
It’s all about the quality of the workout compared to the quantity.
Not to mention that my style of workouts are for any level, beginner to advanced.
