“I don’t know what to eat…”

I think there is an illusion that ‘healthy eating’ looks ONE particular way and that any diet, but especially weight loss requires one very specific way of eating.

If you want to get short term results which leave you frustrated, then yes there is one specific way of eating and that’s traditional low calorie, restricted diets.

Except I don’t play by those rules. In fact the only ‘rules’ I live by are the ones which I have created for myself, using specific healthier strategies.

In this FDOE video, I am showing you what a typical week day of eating looks like for me. I work from home, but I still like quick and simple food. You’ll likely notice a few things:

  • I eat breakfast
  • I eat salad
  • I eat protein based snacks
  • I eat carbs

This isn’t to say EVERY day must be the same, but I set myself some Daily Health Commitments or DHC for short. These are commitments I make to myself, and they can change as my lifestyle or schedule changes, and they are a mix of meal, mindset and movement.

Two of my DHC which come up in this video are:

  1. Protein + Fibre + Water at 50% of my meals
  2. Eat regularly to avoid hunger, and balance energy

There is zero guess work when you eat for YOUR own body and lifestyle!

Oh and here is the amazing protein pancake recipe I used in this video!

:: Chocolate and PB protein pancakes ::

You’ll need:

  • 3/4 C. Egg Whites
  • 1 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder [I used hydrolysed collagen and it worked fine]
  • 1/4 C. Nut butter [I used organic crunchy peanut butter]
  • 1/4 C. Almond milk
  • 4 tbsp Dark Chocolate chips

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth, I used my bullet! Add 2 tbsp of the chocolate chips.

Heat non-stick pan to medium.

Drop spoonfuls of the pancake batter onto the pan, sprinkle some chocolate chips. 

Flip once the batter starts to bubble.

Serve warm with fresh berries or more chocolate and peanut butter!
